Davidson is home to 4 NPHC organizations: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was founded on December 4th, 1906 on the campus of Cornell University. Our founders based our fraternity on the aims of manly deeds, scholarship, and love for all mankind. Alpha Phi Alpha develops leaders, promotes brotherhood, and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities. The Tau Omicron Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was chartered on November 1, 2003. Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated was founded January 5th, 1911 on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana to provide minority students a support system in a racially prejudice environment. The fraternity has since grown to over 250,000 members with more than 730 undergraduate and alumni chapters in the United States. The fundamental purpose of Kappa Alpha Psi is Achievement In Every Field Of Human Endeavor. The Pi Mu chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi was chartered at Davidson College on September 28th, 2008 and has since been a two time recipient of the Davidson College Most Outstanding Organization Award. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., founded on January 15th, 1908 on the campus of Howard University, was the first historically black sorority founded for African-American women. The founders focused on sisterhood, scholarship, and service to all mankind. The Sigma Psi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was chartered on November 23, 2008 on the campus of Davidson College. Last year, on November 23, 2013, the chapter celebrated five phenomenal years of community service, academic achievements, and sisterhood on Davidson’s campus. Email: [email protected] |
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded on January 13, 1913 by 22 collegiate women, and for over 100 years has done tremendous work to impact the global community through service, political involvement, and educational opportunities. The Upsilon Mu Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., chartered on March 27, 2011, is one of the thousands of chapters in this international sorority. Upsilon Mu established itself to fill several voids on the campus of Davidson College and within the local community through engagement in direct service events that educate, inspire, and uplift.
